Ava's first Christmas

While Ava didn't enjoy meeting Santa so much she sure did like what he brought her. She wasn't quite sure what to make of all the people and the paper but she had fun.

I took Ava to see Santa on Friday. Needless to say she wasn't that impressed with him. I knew she'd want nothing to do with him and probably cry when I gave her to him but you still have to have that first picture with Santa. The guy that played santa didn't really help matters. He was so old and frail that I was afraid he might pass out at any moment. As you can tell he doesn't looked all that thrilled in the picture either.

We didn't take Ava with us when we went to Orlando for a couple days. She stayed behind with Grandma. But we made sure to bring back her "first ear hat" and a Minnie mouse the size of her.

Florida

We made it back from our vacation. We flew out on Thanksgiving and came back on Saturday, December 2. First we went to my Uncle Jim's in Venice, Florida. My mom siblings all got together for Thanksgiving.

On the move

Ava has been very busy this past couple weeks. She's learning things left and right. She's started to wave to people which is so cute, because her wave is kind of backwards. She'll wave to people when they come in but hasn't picked up to wave to people when they leave. She's also putting herself into the sitting position by herself. And just this weekend she started crawling. She's been working on it for awhile and would scoot and do the army crawl a lot. But just this weekend she's really starting going on her hands and knees. Especially if she sees something she's got to have. Of course all this crawling has come just in time for the Christmas tree to go up. I"m hoping we can train Crackers to heard her away from the tree. LOL.

6 month pictures

Even though Ava is now 7 months old we finally were able to get her 6 month pictures from JCPenney. While we got the actual pictures fine, the web pictures were a hassle. Long story short I got a lot of coupons for next time for being patient with customer service.

Go Cards!

On Saturday we went with Tracy and Madison to a lil fall festival thing that Coldwell Banker Gundaker was having. We got a free pumpkin and we Ava got her picture taken with Fredbird.

She was so pooped she fell asleep when her hood fell over her face. She's like a bird if her cover her face she'll fall asleep.

6 months!

Ava went for her 6 month checkup today. She weighs 14lbs and is almost 26in. She's still our lil peanut in the 25% for weight but she's moved up to the 50% for height. But really who cares about percentiles just as long as she's healthy and growing. The doctor said she looks great and she's hitting all the important milestones right on cue. Which is very good news for us because given her entrance the 6 month mark was very important milestone given her development. And since she's doing everything right there shouldn't be much to worry about. She still sees the neurologist this month just as a follow up but I'm sure he's going to be impressed at how well she's doing.
