Hi ho hi ho...
Its back to work I go. So I called my work headquarters today to check in about my maternity leave and it turns out that I have to go back to work next week. I'm totally bumming because I thought I had a couple more weeks. Turns out they started my 12 weeks from when I went on bed rest. They had originally told me it started from when I gave birth...not so much. So now I've got a week to get her on a consistant schedule so that I can get some decent sleep when I go back to work. I know, I know I'm dreaming if I think i'm going to get some decent sleep.

On the move

Well little miss Ava is already on the move. I put her on the floor for some tummy time today and she got mad. It hadn't been very long so I didn't pick her up right away. Well she had gotten so mad that her legs started to kick violently and she had rolled herself over. Thinking that she just did this as a fluke I put her back on her tummy two more times and she rolled herself over two more times. And she's almost flipped herself from her back to belly a couple times too. I guess I'm going to have to really start watching her. So much for the inmobile stage.

So Petite
Yesterday I had some highschool friends over for lunch. One of them brought her 15 day old baby. He was a cutie. But it was funny because size wise he looked huge next to Ava. And when I'm out with her people think she's younger than she is cause she's so small. I love that she's so small, that just means I get to cuddle her longer. She did have her neurologist check up on Tuesday and he said that she looked great. She was doing all the right baby things and gaining weight very well so he said he didn't think she'd have any problems. So that was good to hear.

Ava the acrobat
So last night before going to bed I got sucked into watch Cirque de Soleil and I was amazed at the abilities of these people. Particularly the girl that cab put her legs all the way over her head. Well I woke up at 5a.m. this morning to my own acrobatic show. I heard Ava kind of fussing so I went to get her a bottle and come into her room and she had scooted herself out the top of the sleep positioner and had done a complete back bend and her face was within inches of the bumper pads. She was still in back bend position when I found her. Needless to say the bumper pads are coming off today and Ava will be enrolled in to a gymastics course as soon as she is able to walk.

growing and growing
Ava went for her first month check up today. She's now 6lb. 14oz and 20 1/4in long. She's still just our lil peanut.

As most of you know my dad passed away on May 6 after a long battle with a rare liver disease. We had high hopes that he would receive a liver transplant but his body could not hold out any longer. He was a wonderful man and I will miss him so much. It keeps me going knowing that he and Brad have reunited after 6 years. And I'm thankful that he got to meet his grandaughter. In fact, two days before he passed he got to spend the day with her. Thank you to everyone for the prayers.

Dad update....
Well as most of you know my dad is back in the hospital again. His liver has pretty much stopped functioning and caused a big back up of fluid in his body, which had become infected. Fluid had also built up in his lungs. They removed some fluid from his body and lungs and have put him on a massive dose of antibiotics to kill the infection. His MELD score (the number they go by to determine the severity of the liver patient) is at 25 which is really bad and means that he needs a liver and soon. They have been preparing him for if a liver comes in by taking PET scans and CT scans which is routine before surgery. Well they found a spot on his lungs after doing the PET scan. So now we have to wait for them to do a needle biopsy to make sure its not cancer. If it is cancer than he's off the transplant list. So they are suppose to do the biopsy tomorrow so lets just pray that its not cancer and that a liver comes very soon.
Sleep Deprivation

So everyone always tells you to get your sleep while you can when you're pregnant. But you really don't know what they mean until the baby is here. Its no secret to anyone in my circle of family and friends that I love sleep. It was quite a hobby for me before baby came along. Now that baby is here, well those days have gone. I am learning to function on lil sleep...and well its an adjustment to say the least. I often tell Ava at her 3 a.m. feedings that its a good thing she's cute cause I don't think I'd waste such valuable sleeping time on anyone else. Oh the joys of motherhood!
