Busy busy busy

I just realized I haven't given an update on all the things Ava's been doing. She's super busy and into everything and anything. Several weeks ago she discovered she can climb steps no problem and now she's figured out how to climb up them and then slide down them. She's been standing pretty good on her own for a lil while and will take off walking if she's holding your finger. Then last night Chris and I were working with her and she walked from him to me all by herself. Three big steps on her own. So needless to say it won't be long before she's running and we're chasing.

She's finally getting her first tooth in. It broke through the gums the other day and it will be just a couple more days before its all the way in.. and it looks like the one next to it is not far behind.

Oh and she said her first word....Wanna guess what it was? No not mama. No not Dada...its Crackers! Crackers is our dog and at first we thought wow that sounds like crackers but is she really saying it and knowing who it is. Yep! So a couple weeks ago she'd say it all the time when she saw Crackers but I guess the newness has worn off and she doesn't say it as much but she'll still call for Crackers. And its sounds more like "ackers." Lol.

The parents as teacher lady came for the first time this week. And Ava thought it was great fun because she brought toys with her to play with. She'll probably do a full assesment of her skills in the next month or so but said so far it looks like she's doing all the right motor and intelectual skills. The parents as teachers is a good program cause it gives you an idea on what you should be teaching your child at a certain age and where they should be. They also have different activities you can take your child too. This week we went to "Teeny Weeny Workout", they had all these rooms set up with mats and toys for kids her age to climb on and play with. Its good time for her to be around other kids since she's not in a daycare.

This weekend I started to put some pictures in a scrap book and I couldn't believe how lil she was when she first came home and now she's almost walking... Crazy how time flies when you're having fun.
